Lopez@Dalian

In the midst of all the travelling from a place to another, we would often find people falling asleep in the bus. Something which we do not really look at and ponder when we're in Singapore. Travelling in China on the bus is kinda a torture, the distance from a place to another is so long and so far.

Thughts of the Day: Lets look within the context of life. Have we been sleeping all our life? I mean, have we been living our life without an aim, a purpose. What is your Purpose in life? Is your life really completed or is there a part of it that is still in bed waiting for an awakening?

Day7

Went round the places of interest. Really interesting. Structures that catches the eyes are everywhere.

Thought of the day : Are our lives like these. Our heart is everywhere, wanting to do everything and anything in one time. So many things to achieve. What are our priorities? What do you really want to achieve in life?

Day6

Another Field Trip around the city.

The rain and the cold temperature was the thermostat for our field trip.

Fulfillment - Furniture plaza. Looking at their finishes and their detailing was such a kick ass. Their standard of furniture is really impressive and exquisite.

Day5

Day5
Field trip to the industrial park and shopping at the mall and what have you.

The fulfilling bit for the day was the conversation with the "Hui zu" a.k.a Muslim. in their shop located in the school. Got to know them better and the food that they cook. Totally awesome. Got to know that they aint locals but from another part of China. These experiences are those that cannot be taken away. Shopping and what have you can be done in Singapore. But these priceless conversation, you can never have.

Day4

Day4
It was the official start of the new school term and project. Our task was to create a vibrant student activity area that is conducive to both study and social needs. A mix of formal and informal spaces to be clearly distinguished.

The studying culture of the China is somewhat different from us, Singaporeans. In our lovely country, we'd be drinking coffee and having tidbits all over our table while we are studying. And we'd be listening to songs prolly, Jason M. singing Lucky over the ear piece. But the students here in China do not have the habit to do so. They have no tidbits and no songs playing. Just a quiet mezzanine to study and long tables.

Treasure your studying environment kids in Singapore. You're so fortunate.

Day3

Day3
Today was the start of the GEMS lecture and Mr Sun a.k.a Armant was the lecturer from China teaching and introducing us the background and the characteristics of Dalian. And before the long and fulfilling lecture, a group of us went around the school touring it and discovered places of good food.

Day1 and 2

XuShi
Breakfast.

Day1

The 52 days journey in Dalian started with a whole day of travelling from Singapore to Beijing, and then to Dalian. We were welcomed by a heavy down pour as soon as we reached Dalian with the temperature as low as 8 Degree Celsius. Despite the heavy down pour and low temperate, seniors from the Dalian Polytechnic University came and sheltered us to the bus and to the hostel located in the school. The well designed and finished hostel shocked all of us, bringing a close to the first day.
